개인정보 처리방침 — Mac App Store 버전
This policy covers the version of Kopit distributed through the Mac App Store. It is deliberately separate from our website policy because this edition behaves differently: it has no licence server, no third-party payment processor, and no self-updater.

The short version
- Kopit collects nothing. We operate no servers that receive your data.
- Everything you copy stays on your Mac.
- Optional iCloud sync is off until you turn it on, and runs entirely inside your own iCloud account — encrypted, and end-to-end encrypted with Apple's Advanced Data Protection.
- No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no advertising, no accounts.
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the Kopit application for macOS distributed through the Mac App Store (the App), operated by Kopit (we, us). The version of Kopit downloaded from our website is covered by a separate policy, because it includes licence activation and website purchases that this edition does not.
2. We do not collect your data
We collect no personal information through this edition of the App. There is no account to create and no sign-in. The App sends nothing to us: we operate no clipboard servers, no licence servers, no analytics endpoints, and no crash-reporting services of our own.
- No analytics or telemetry
- No advertising or tracking identifiers, and no data shared with data brokers
- No device identifiers or fingerprints transmitted anywhere
- No account, email address, or profile
3. Clipboard data stays on your Mac
Kopit's core function is to keep a searchable history of what you copy. All of that data — text, rich text, links, images, files, colour values, text recognised in images, and snippets — is stored locally on your Mac, inside the App's sandbox container. We have no ability to access, read, or recover it.
To reduce the chance of capturing something you did not intend, Kopit skips concealed and transient (do-not-record) clipboard items, lets you exclude specific apps, and lets you pause capture or clear history at any time. Content that is never captured is never stored — and never synced.
4. Optional iCloud sync
Kopit Pro includes an optional sync that keeps your clipboard history in step across your own Macs. It is off by default and syncs nothing until you turn it on.
Sync uses Apple's CloudKit private database inside your own iCloud account. Synced data therefore lives in your iCloud storage, not on any Kopit server — we operate no sync backend and cannot read your synced data. Content fields are encrypted, and are end-to-end encrypted when you enable Apple's Advanced Data Protection.
You can turn sync off at any time, and the App offers a single action that erases all of Kopit's synced data from your iCloud account.
5. Purchases
Kopit Pro is sold as an in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. Your payment details are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy and are never seen by us. We receive no personal information about you from the transaction — the App checks your purchase status locally with the App Store and stores no purchase record on our systems.
6. Network activity
This edition of the App is designed to work offline and makes no network requests of its own. App updates are delivered by the Mac App Store. If you enable iCloud sync, the App communicates with Apple's iCloud service on your behalf — that traffic goes to Apple, not to us.
7. Third-party services
This edition of the App uses no third-party SDKs and shares your data with no third party. The only external services involved are Apple's own — the App Store (distribution and purchases) and iCloud/CloudKit (optional sync) — which handle your data under Apple's privacy policy.
Should we ever share user data with a third party, we would only do so with a party that provides the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this policy.
8. System permissions
Kopit asks for macOS permissions only to provide features you invoke, and uses them for nothing else. Accessibility is used solely to paste a selected clip into the app you were last using. Screen Recording is used solely for the screenshot and screen-recording features you start yourself. Microphone access is requested only if you choose to record audio. None of the data these permissions expose is transmitted anywhere.
9. Data retention and deletion
Clipboard history is kept on your Mac according to the limits you set, and you can delete individual items or clear the whole history at any time. If you enable sync, synced data stays in your iCloud account until you delete it or use the App's erase-all-synced-data action. Deleting the App removes its local data from your Mac. Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal information. Because your data lives on your device — and, if you enable sync, in your own iCloud account — you control it directly, without needing to ask us. If you have a question about this policy, email hello@kopit.app.
11. Children
Kopit is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them — or, as described above, from anyone.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the Last updated date above.
